NAKISA

Between BodiesBetween Bodies is a site-specific performance exploring the relationship between the human body, architecture, and the structures that shape our sense of identity and belonging.

Presented at Seattle's historic Union Station, the work brings together four performers wearing black bodysuits and reflective sculptural forms. Through choreographed movement, repetition, and moments of stillness, their bodies navigate the monumental architecture, shifting between individual presence and collective formation.

The wearable sculptures, constructed from geometric forms and mirrored surfaces, extend and distort the human silhouette. As performers move through the space, reflections fragment their bodies and surroundings, creating an ongoing dialogue between visibility and concealment, connection and separation, individuality and collective identity.

Moving between the station's interior and exterior, the performance unfolds through encounters, formations, collisions, and moments of collapse. The architecture becomes both a physical boundary and an active participant, shaping how bodies relate to one another and occupy public space.

Between Bodies invites viewers to reconsider the boundaries between self and surroundings, and how our identities are continuously shaped through movement, interaction, and the spaces we inhabit.
